98% fear UK road safety not improving

Research conducted for the latest issue of the Auto Trader Owner’s Guide suggests that a staggering 98% of British motorists fear that the government is failing to improve safety on UK roads. Of the 3,000 drivers surveyed for the quarterly publication, 77% also want theory and practical driving skills to be taught in schools, while 60% are convinced the coming fixed penalty fines for careless driving will do nothing to benefit safety. Volkswagen Routan (2008): first official pictures

Based on a Chrysler Grand Voyager the Routan is over five metres long and will use the American car’s engines. Strate College has released the second episode in its five-part mini-series documenting a project students have undertaken in partnership with French automaker Peugeot: creating a premium vehicle for the year 2030. This second video delves into the 2D sketching phase of the project as 30 students – divided into 10 groups – devise their exterior and interior designs as well as the associated products and color and trim details for a future Peugeot. The video outlines the stage as students develop the overall proportions of the exterior and interior designs, and follows the teams as they choose the textures for materials that will feature in the interior.
